Structural Observation
Within the Narcy Studies Lab framework,
Story Ownership describes a narrative condition in
which one person or source becomes the primary authority over how
events are told and interpreted.
Every participant naturally has a perspective.
The structure begins when one account gains the power to correct,
dismiss, or absorb all competing versions. Alternative memories are
treated as confusion. Context offered by others is downgraded. The
story becomes centralized around one narrator's authority rather
than the combined evidence.
The pattern is not having a version.
The pattern is one version gaining authority over every other account.
Field Guidance
Healthy shared history allows different perspectives to coexist and
permits evidence to challenge any participant's account.
Story Ownership is different.
Once the pattern becomes visible, narrative confidence is no longer
viewed as isolated certainty. It becomes part of the Narrative
structure when one account repeatedly decides which details,
memories, and interpretations are allowed to remain.
