Questionable Event
?
Has an explanation for why someone acted been presented as though it were established fact rather than an inference?
The pattern is not behavior. The pattern is assigning intent.

Structural Observation
Within the Narcy Studies Lab framework,
Motive Assignment describes a narrative mechanism
that converts an inferred explanation for behavior into an apparent
fact.
People naturally form hypotheses about why others act.
The structure begins when the hypothesis stops being treated as
uncertain. Observed behavior is replaced by an assigned purpose.
Later events are interpreted through that motive, and the person
being described must defend an internal intention that no observer
can directly verify.
The pattern is not inference.
The pattern is inferred intent being promoted to established fact.
Field Guidance
Healthy interpretation distinguishes observable behavior from
possible motive and remains open to uncertainty.
Motive Assignment is different.
Once the pattern becomes visible, statements about intent are no
longer viewed as isolated interpretation. They become part of the
Narrative structure when inferred motive repeatedly controls how
behavior, credibility, and responsibility are evaluated.
