Within the Narcy Studies Lab framework, Regulation Load describes a structure in which responsibility for emotional, relational, or practical stability becomes concentrated in one person or role.
One period of caregiving, reassurance, mediation, or crisis support may be ordinary.
The structure begins when one person is repeatedly expected to absorb distress, restore calm, solve disruptions, or maintain functioning while the surrounding system adapts around that expectation.
Support becomes an assigned operating load.
Field Guidance
Caregiving, parenting, leadership, friendship, and crisis response can temporarily require unequal stabilization effort.
Regulation Load is different.
Once the pattern becomes visible, repeated reassurance, conflict mediation, vigilance, and recovery work are no longer viewed as isolated acts of support. They become part of the Supply structure.
