One new friendship, changed priority, or temporary redistribution of attention may be ordinary. The structure begins when relational demand repeatedly moves toward whichever source is currently available, responsive, useful, or easiest to activate. The source changes while the required function remains the same.

Field Guidance

Healthy people naturally distribute time, care, support, and attention across many relationships. Supply Rotation is different. Once the pattern becomes visible, alternating engagement, changing contact intensity, new reference groups, and recurring source substitution are no longer viewed as isolated social changes. They become part of the Supply structure.
